There are many training courses to make you a better speaker. Yet, most speakers, trainers or teachers that I see in action are quite boring. Somehow, learning the basics of public speaking doesn’t make someone into a great public speaker. Almost all compelling public speakers use NLP to become better at public speaking. All the top speakers I know of use NLP. Two of the best public speakers are Owen Fitzpatrick and Kate Benson. For that reason I am very happy that both have contributed to the free guide “What Makes A Great Speaker?”

Owen Fitzpatrick is a master in how to influence an audience. In his contribution to the free guide “What Makes A Great Speaker?” he goes into the details of what is important for public speaking beyond the obvious. Everyone learns to be in a confident state as a speaker, but many confident speakers are still boring. In the this free quide Owen introduces us to many more factors that are needed in order to be a great speaker.

The strength of Kate Benson is that she, like no other, is able to impress on your unconscious mind that public speaking is all about what the people in the audience learn rather than what you as a speaker are able to say. In her Lessons From Teaching Excellence To Public Speaking contribution in this free guide she shows which variables you as a speaker can control in order to make sure that the people listening to you actually learn something valuable.

Finally, together with Kate Benson, I contribute to two often overlooked arcane subjects: group size and the personality of people in your audiences. How big the group is you are talking to makes a lot of difference in what is the best way to prepare your talk and set the variables. When you interact with people in the audience as a speaker, people often react to you in a way that is typical of their personality but that might strike you as weird. Taking into account that people’s personalities may differ from yours makes interacting with them easy and fun.
